Four players, one groove
De Peppers started in December 2025 with one plan: make the Red Hot Chili Peppers sound live the way they do on their best bootlegs. That means the funk, the space and the improvising that belong to that band, rather than a tidy copy.
How it started
In December 2025, four experienced musicians found each other through their love of the same band. A few months later, in February 2026, we were at SoundQuest in Veghel recording three songs: Scar Tissue, Dani California and By the Way.
On 14 March 2026 we played our first show at Soos Plock in Volkel. Two sets and a packed room. In July we played a night at Café De Afzakkerij on the Noordkade in Veghel, during Fabriek Magnifique.
After the summer the line-up changed. The plan stayed the same: play each song as if it’s the last encore.
What we care about
Groove first
Every show leaves room for improvising, syncopation and funky bass lines. We study the Peppers’ live recordings to catch their spontaneous energy, then make it our own with a dose of Brabant swagger.
Everyone up front in the mix
We build the setlist together with the organiser. From radio hit to B-side, we look for the balance between sing-alongs and surprises, so every crowd gets what it came for.
Shows with a pulse
Between songs we tell stories about the Peppers and about the places we play. By the end of the night, a room full of strangers feels like one big party.
What a tribute band is (and isn’t)
A tribute band plays the music of one band, as close to the original as it can. De Peppers is not an official Red Hot Chili Peppers band and has no link with their management. We’re fans with instruments.
What we do promise: the songs in the right key, the solos and bass lines as you know them, and the energy the Peppers are famous for.
