What does it cost to book a band?
Dutch booking agencies quote from about €1,200 to over €5,000 for a full band; quote platform Trustoo gives €500 to €1,300 per evening for a DJ. The price of one band depends on playing time, travel, sound and date. The page on what a cover band costs explains how to compare quotes.
Why doesn't De Peppers list a fixed price?
A pub night in Uden and a festival in Zeeland are different nights. You get a proposal for your date and your venue.
How far in advance should you book a band?
For a wedding on a Saturday between May and September, booking agencies advise 9 to 12 months. For a birthday or company party outside high season, you can book later. Send your request as soon as the date is fixed.
How long does a band play at a party?
A party night is often three sets of about 40 minutes. The band takes a break between sets; Fortune says a quarter of an hour per 45 minutes is usual for a cover band. A short surprise set lasts 45 to 60 minutes.
What do I need to make a request?
The date (or a few options), the place, the type of party, roughly how many guests and how long you want music. If you know what sound equipment the venue has, add that.
Does the band bring its own sound system?
That varies by band. Ask, and put in the agreement who provides the PA, the lighting and the mixing desk. De Peppers bring their own mixing desk; we agree PA and lighting per show.
How much power does a band need?
Ask the band. A standard 16-amp circuit delivers at most around 3,700 watts. Put the band on a circuit without coffee machines or fridges.
What if my venue has a sound limiter?
Ask for the limit and give it to the band. You can't turn an acoustic drum kit down with a knob, so the band needs to know in advance.
Can I request songs?
Often you give the band a list of songs that must be in and songs that are off limits. Keep the list short and let the band read the room.
Can I combine a band with a DJ?
Yes. The DJ plays in the breaks and after the last set. Agree who provides the sound system and who plays when.
Do I have to pay Buma for a band at my party?
Buma is the Dutch music rights organisation. For a public performance, the organiser or the venue arranges the licence with Buma, or SABAM in Belgium. For a private party with family or friends, that is usually not needed. If in doubt, ask Buma.
Can I see a band live first?
Yes, check the band's calendar. De Peppers play Soos Plock in Volkel on Saturday 12 December 2026: doors 20.30, band starts 21.15. Tickets €10 in presale, €12.50 at the door.
